The New York Times: Vietnam’s Tourism is Transforming Strongly

Recently, the prestigious American newspaper The New York Times ranked Vietnam at 34th place in its list of the 52 top destinations worldwide for 2026, recognizing the country as a tourism hub undergoing a strong transformation, offering increasingly diverse and high-quality experiences for visitors.
According to The New York Times, Vietnam – a rising tourism star in Southeast Asia – attracts millions of visitors each year thanks to its renowned cuisine, diverse and majestic natural landscapes stretching from towering mountains to lush tropical forests, along with a rich historical and cultural heritage. In particular, major investment projects in tourism infrastructure expected to be completed this year demonstrate Vietnam’s strong determination to elevate the quality of experiences and prepare to welcome a growing wave of international tourists.

Notably, Long Thanh International Airport is expected to complete Phase 1 and begin operations in June 2026. It is anticipated to become one of the country’s largest aviation hubs, with the capacity to welcome tens of millions of passengers annually, playing a crucial role in connecting Vietnam with the global tourism market.
